Andrew Abel is from San Diego, California and has lived in La Jolla, California for the majority of his life. His interest in preparing food came at an early age and by his late teens and twenties he found himself working under some of the best chefs San Diego had to offer. In restaurants such as George`s at the Cove, Top of the Cove in La Jolla and Pacifica Del Mar in Del Mar, California he honed his craft. For the last fifteen years Andrew has been a personal chef and private (live-in) chef in several different estates in Malibu, Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills. He helped a good friend and mentor with his chain of successful restaurants and sushi bars doing everything from executive chef and sushi chef to provisioner of up to three restaurants at a time and new restaurant planning and design. He has also done countless catering`s, including weddings, engagement parties and gala events as well as intimate settings. He has worked seasonally, for ten years, on several large yachts in Canada, Alaska, the West Coast of the United States and Mexico, and with three years as a butcher, there isn`t much Andrew hasn't done with food.

Sushi is fun, but labor intensive. Wouldn`t it be nice to have your own sushi chef at your next party? Chef Andrew has ten years of experience making sushi. Rolls, sashimi, nigiri, tataki, poke and everything else that goes along with it. Sushi platters can also be made ahead of time and picked up or delivered to you to make your Asian themed party a sure hit.

In the past people around the world ate and drank more of these foods and beverages. Pickled vegetables, sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha tea and tejuino, are just a few examples. These foods and beverages are loaded with probiotics and are good to bolster the flora of the stomach, if you will. Andrew loves these things and pickles his own veggies and brews his own kombucha tea as a hobby. Ask for a list of seasonal veggies and brews he might have in jars or bottles for you.
